Leah Rowan
President
Leah is a junior biology pre-med student. She earned her EMT certification in 2019, and has been working as an ER Technician during the pandemic. Leah hopes that in founding this club, students will be encouraged to become EMTs or pursue a career in emergency medicine.
Meenakshi Karthik
Internal Vice President
Meenakshi is a sophomore majoring in Health on a pre-med track. She loves to go on adventures and explore new places and cultures! Other than being the public relations officer of Cougar Medics, she hopes to support and encourage everyone in the club to meet their pre-med goals by not only helping them gain medical experience but also to find new connections and build relationships.
Nga Thai
External Vice President
Nga is a junior biochemistry pre-med student and is pursuing a career as a family physician. In her spare time, she loves playing Dungeons and Dragons, watching anime and doing puzzles. Nga is not an EMT, but is excited to learn more about the world of emergency medicine through the club!
Fatima Khuram

Fatima is a junior majoring in Psychology on the Pre-Med track. In her spare time, she loves editing videos of trips she has taken to look back on. She is an EMT-Basic, and is excited to be a part of an org on campus that brings together all Coogs in EMS!
Aamina Khuram
Treasurer
Aamina is a sophomore psychology pre med student. She is planning to become an EMT by summer 2021. Aamina has always been intrigued in the field of emergency medicine. She wants this club to grow big and become UH’s primary emergency care organization.

Pavan is a Sophomore Honors Biomedical Sciences student who aspires to attend medical school in the future. In his free time, he loves to watch Formula One, read comics, and go scuba diving. He is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and is excited for everyone to learn more about the emergency medical field.

Khushboo Shukla
Khushboo is a junior biology major on the pre-med track, and aspires to be a surgeon. She hopes to earn her EMT certification by summer 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and DIY crafts. Khushboo hopes that together with her team, she can establish Cougar Medics as a family for cougars interested in trauma and emergency medicine!
Lycia Poh
Public Relations Officer
Lycia is a pre-med freshman majoring in public health. Her hobbies include singing, song writing, playing sports, and baking desserts! A goal of hers is the be EMT certified and become either a paramedic or an orthopedist in the future. She hopes to meet everyone soon!
